The Nevada Homeowners Meetup Group provides a forum for discussion of various concerns related to homeowner associations in Nevada. A large fraction of homes in Nevada are now in areas controlled by homeowner associations. Homeowner associations provide certain advantages to owners but associations are also the source of numerous complaints and problems, especially in cases where the government of the association is not of the highest quality. We do not expect to have actual meetings in this meetup group because the purpose is served just as well by this discussion forum.

The State of Nevada has enacted many pages of laws and also has an office to deal with the various problems. The laws and regulations related to homeowner associations are complex and this forum provides an area where problems and conflicts can be discussed. It is primarily an educational forum.

All views are welcome here. If you believe that homeowner associations are the best thing since sliced bread, then feel free to say that. If you believe that the associations are usually run by incompetent, power hungry dictators, then you may say that also. But your views are more likely to be persuasive if they are stated in a civil manner. If you want to name the names of those with whom you disagree, there is nothing wrong with that, although be certain of your facts and keep in mind that you can be held legally accountable for what you write. In general though, the laws of this state and the United States are not neutral about speech or writing and tend to tilt in favor of free speech and against limits on speech and writing. This tilting in favor of free speech and writing is one of the strongest supports of our form of government.
